LOS ANGELES, CA – The blogosphere was shocked earlier this week when, in a surprising turn of events, a travel blogger posted a new article that did not hype any credit cards.

Renowned points and miles enthusiast Steve Ginstner shocked the blogosphere earlier this week when he shared a new post on this popular travel blog that failed to hype, pitch or even reference credit cards.

Bucking tradition, which suggests that hyping credit cards via an affiliate program is an easy way to get rich, Ginster seems to be charting a reckless new travel blogging strategy.

Fellow travel blogger and self-proclaimed “miles expert,” Bill Hocks offered this grim appraisal, “This could be the beginning of the end for Ginster. We are all shocked at this so-called strategy, but to be honest, this was a long time coming. Ginster has been drifting away from credit cards for years now and

Not everyone shared pessimistic views on this approach. Saul Hedenberg, a relatively new travel blogger, offered an opposing interview on this Twitter feed when he noted, “Listen, I like that he’s taking chances. Sure, it’s unorthodox, but maybe it’s so crazy it just might work?”

Lee is the brains (but definitely not the looks) of The Takeoff Nap. When he's not complaining about upgrades he runs a few travel blogs, but this one is his favorite.
