PHOENIX, AZ – Sandra Dunning is legit ok that her rental car smells faintly of cigarette smoke. As a recovering smoker, the pleasant aroma is a friendly reminder of the good ‘ole days when she used to kill a pack and half a day.
When Dunning picked her Dodge Charger up from the Phoenix Budget Rent a Car center she thought she smelled something familiar. Just the tiniest hint of something reminiscent of a time gone past would waft across her nostrils every few minutes.
At first, she couldn’t place the scent and sniffed around the car for a few minutes while fumbling with her phone’s navigation system and then it hit her.
“Hello darkness, my old friend,” she mumbled to herself after she jarred loose a distant memory of Marlboro Lights.
She briefly considered returning the car for one that didn’t smell but reminded herself the chances of finding such a car were pretty slim anyway so she might as well just enjoy the drive, and headed out towards her business meeting.
As an ex-smoker, I feel about the same.
Ok, whats the big news here? clickbait? I don’t get it! If I would mind, every time something is wrong with a car. Is it the smell of cigarettes, empty windshield wiper fluid, broken cigarette lighter port to charge my devices, car past its service, cleanliness inside or outside, wiper blades in good condition, no scratches or dents, no broken handles or pieces in the interior, and so on? I would never be able to drive of the rental lot ever.
Methinks you missed the satire part. 🙂

Dude, this is the first article I have read from this blog and you knocked it out of the park. After reading so many “you know what grinds my gears?!?” -type articles, the mix of humor and realism of this article is amazingly refreshing. Consider me a fan.
Thanks so much! Glad you liked it! We are just getting started. Official launch day is tomorrow…more fun to come!
