WASHINGTON, DC – Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg was caught on a hot mic when he expressed surprise that Republicans were still allowed to travel in the post-pandemic era.

“I thought we’d banned most of them,” former Presidential candidate and current Transportation Secretary, Pete Buttigieg was overheard saying to his chief of staff after a recent press conference. He went on to say, “I’m pretty sure our face mask policies were very effective at either keeping conservatives at home or irritating them enough when they did travel so they get banned by the airline.”

The embarrassing moment occurred after a recent press conference discussing his agency’s “Just one more day” policy designed to keep the face mask mandate in place indefinitely. This policy was soon rendered moot when a Florida judge struck down the mandate earlier this week.

According to a TTN reporter, Mayor Pete was asked a question by a reporter from CNN, a vaunted beacon of unbiased reporting, about how the agency plans to still identify traveling Republicans now that the face mask mandate was overturned.

Buttigieg appeared to be caught off guard a little bit by the question and stammered for a moment before muttering something about FJB paraphernalia.

After the presser ended, Buttigieg, who apparently thought his mic had been turned off, leaned over to his chief of staff and expressed significant concern about the possibility of any conservatives being allowed to travel.

An agency spokesperson later clarified the secretary’s comments by offering this statement:

“Secretary Buttigieg has great respect for the heroic efforts of the flight attendants who serve our great country every day. It is the policy of this administration to provide a safe place for them to work. This includes providing an environment where people who might have a different opinion than them shouldn’t even come in contact with them. This is why the Secretary is pleased to announce his agency is considering a new program that will only allow GOP members to travel on Southwest Airlines.”

No timetable for the proposed policy was released, however, an insider working on background suggested the policy had stalled a little bit when Secretary Buttigieg had to remind President Biden that the president was a Democrat and not a Republican.

  1. He’s a complete idiot. That ranks right up there with “deplorables”. No wonder this country is where we are, leaders with ridiculous comments keep stirring the pot.

  2. I think you need to have SATIRE in bold at the beginning, middle and end of your posts. People don’t seem to understand what your site is about.

  3. Pete is a loyal member of the Party of the Ass. Seems to me that ass just had a brain fart.
