BOCA RATON, FL – Hertz Car Rental is rolling out an eye-popping new perk for its elite members. Soon, President’s Circle members will have a guarantee that they won’t be arrested more than once a year after returning cars they’ve rented.
The new perk has already garnered significant praise on social media from several President’s Circle members who’d just about given up hope on the rental car company.
Under the new program, the company is going to guarantee that President’s Circle members – the top tier of the Hertz loyalty program – won’t be arrested more than once per year while renting cars.
In recent years, Hertz had been using a new policy that actively sought to avoid checking customers’ cars back in after they’d returned them. Under the policy, clerks would pretend to check the cars in, but after the customer left the clerk would report the car stolen. In many cases, customers would later be arrested, facing large fines and legal fees.
Clerks were even trained to smile and pretend they were fiddling around with the app checking the cars in, then apologetically say they were out of printer paper. Reportedly, the fees from this policy generated enough new revenue for Hertz that each executive was able to afford a new vacation home or yacht.
However, after significant customer backlash, company leadership circled the wagons. After a weeklong executive retreat in the vacation destination of Needles, CA, executives unveiled the new program. With these new changes, the company is willing to guarantee that the most loyal and elite members of the Hertz rewards program wouldn’t be arrested more than once per year.
President’s Circle Members will even be able to choose the car rental they want to be arrested on and the Hertz app will even present affiliate links and recommendations to the member for local bail bonds companies and lawyers.
Jim Carlson, a President’s Circle Member who rents more than 50 cars a year seemed pleased with the new direction when he shared, “Finally. Glad to see they are listening to us. We can deal with one arrest year, but the hard part wasn’t knowing which car you might get arrested for. Now we can plan.”
Lower tier members will continue to receive no guarantee regarding the frequency or location of their arrest.
You forgot to mention the frequent flier miles which are earned from each arrest.
How could you leave that part out?!?
dangit! Missed opportunity! LOL.
With satire, it can be a great challenge to hit the mark. Mission accomplished, friend!
Thanks Corbett! Kind of you to say that.
You’re crushin’ it! Keep it coming, please.
