DENVER, CO – Frontier Airlines, one of the nation’s “Ultra Low-Cost Carriers” has added a new unique perk with a twist that is going to make a lot of Denver passengers happy.

Frontier has been increasingly aggressive in targeting disenfranchised elite customers from other airlines at its Denver hub. In a bid to offer their own elite customers a greater experience and ensure they make their connections, elite Frontier guests on short connections might find private transportation waiting for them planeside.

Beginning May 31st, qualifying Frontier customers and DEN members will be greeted by a privately hired Lyft driver at the jetbridge.

The Takeoff Nap was able to catch up with two lucky Frontier elites participating in trials held during the winter.

“It’s a great enhancement.” Lance Davis, a marketing executive for a typewriter ribbon manufacturer said of the service. “The flight was running a little bit late and I wasn’t sure if I would make my connection, sometimes I stop for a Caribou coffee and I lose track of time. But with this, I was able to make it to my next gate on time.”

“I wasn’t so sure at first. I had received a text message from Frontier telling me to go out the side door on the jet bridge but I have received air drops before that wasn’t what I was expecting to find so I just kind of took a risk. I looked outside and there was my ride, a 2003 Toyota Tercel. I had the nicest driver, Trey, and learned about jam bands on my way to my next gate.” Elle Pincher said of the experience.

Frontier representatives mentioned that they still have more to learn about how to properly offer the service, especially because it requires Lyft drivers to exit the airport pickup line for what amounted to a $6.45 fare; but they were adamant about offering the service and finding a way to make it work.
