SAN FRANCISCO, CA – Kyle Sheffield was pumped to find out he’d been upgraded on his recent Santa Rosa to San Francisco flight. The short 39-minute flight is serviced by United Express and a small CRJ jet.

The 24-year-old Kyle is new to the world of business travel having recently taken a consulting job at one of the Big 4 consulting firms. The job has him on the road a bit and he’s been building up his airline status as his father taught him to.

The Houston native had yet to receive much in the way of perks during his brief stint as a road warrior so when he crossed the threshold into United’s Gold Status he was tickled pink.

The complimentary upgrade to first-class? Icing on the cake.

“Sure,” Kyle noted, “it’s a short flight, but it’s first-class, baby. That’s how I roll!” Sheffield’s comments to our reporting crew came while he was making a TikTok video to share with his followers.

Sheffield was not upgraded on the 3+ hour flight home to Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport and reportedly took his flight in seat 39A.

Lee is the brains (but definitely not the looks) of The Takeoff Nap. When he's not complaining about upgrades he runs a few travel blogs, but this one is his favorite.
