VOLUSIA, FL – Authorities at a Hampton Inn near Daytona Beach Count, Florida, reported receiving a 9-1-1 call from an irate guest who was furious he didn’t receive his complimentary two bottles of water at check-in.

Doug Randall, a 49-year-old businessman from Schaumberg, Illinois, called 9-1-1 shortly after checking into a Hampton Inn hotel and suites in Volusia County, Florida. According to a recording that was released by local authorities, Randall was furious that he didn’t receive his complimentary bottles of water entitled to him as a Diamond member of the Hilton Honors program.

“Don’t they know who I am!?” Shouted Randall to the 9-1-1 dispatcher in the call, “I single-handledly kept this hotel chain afloat during the pandemic because I kept traveling!”

Diamond members of the now-commoditized rewards program are entitled to two bottles of water with their stay at some properties, including Hampton Inns. A spokesperson for the local police department noted that after calling the hotel, the front desk agent indicated that there were no more water bottles to give out because they’d given them all away to other Diamond members.

“Literally everyone is a Diamond member now,” claimed front deck agent Charla Gaines, “We can’t stock enough bottles of water because there is pretty much just one tier of status with Honors now!”

Local authorities did not dispatch any officers to the property and instead called Randall back and told him to stop wasting their time and consider switching to an IHG property instead.

  1. All socialism…

All hotel brands are shit ….

And too all free loaders here , have good relation with hotel , they are the one who pay for your points …

The franchise companies are the worst that happen to hospitality in america.

  2. This kind of travelers think they own hotels because they stayed around 50-100 nights a year in different hotels on their company money, and don’t even know that the diamond status they have is because of hotels. Hotels pays for all their points.

  3. Do guest realize that hotels pay 5% of room revenue to brands for their loyalty points?

  4. Come to small establishment. Cleaner , inexpensive and customer service second to none.
