ESTERO, FL – Rental car juggernaut Hertz is rolling out a new program for frequent renters at the storied company. The new service guarantees renters will not be arrested after returning their car. The new premium service is similar to their prepaid gas option.

After suffering through an extremely challenging pandemic-related downturn in business, rental car firm Hertz is on the rebound with unbridled demand for its cars.

As the travel industry ramps back up from the doldrums of the pandemic, Hertz is reenergized and making moves to reposition itself as the industry leader. After initially selling off literally its entire rental car fleet except for 7 Hyundai Santa Fe’s and Chevy Malibu, the firm has made a huge investment in a new fleet of cars.

They’ve also started introducing new upcharge fees and premium service offers, giving, in their words, “renters more of what they want.”

The highlight of their menu of fee offerings includes a guarantee that renters will not be arrested after they return their rental car.

The Hertz Corporation’s CEO offered this statement to the press, “Listen, we like to think that we know what our customers want. And they resoundingly told us that they don’t want to get arrested after they drop rental cars off – and we think they are willing to pay for this premium service.”

Hertz agents will offer this service at the time of renting during the same pitch used to hock prepaid gas and rental car insurance. No specifics on the price of this premium service have been released, but an insider leaked that it could cost as much twice the car rental itself based on a math formula that keeps the number 37% beneath the average cost of bail money.

No word on whether other rental car companies will follow suit.
